"account": "A Michael Jordan jersey from his \"Last Dance\" season has sold for a record-breaking £10.6 million, surpassing all previous basketball memorabilia sales. Jordan wore the Chicago Bulls jersey during game two of the 1998 NBA Finals and signed it himself. He scored a game-high 37 points that night, leading his team to a 4-2 series win and his sixth and final NBA Championship. Jordan was named Finals Most Valuable Player in all six of those games. The highest-priced sports memorabilia is a Babe Ruth jersey from the 1932 World Series, which sold for $24.1 million in 2024. The previous record for a basketball item was a 2007-08 card featuring Jordan and Kobe Bryant, which fetched $12.9 million last year. The last time a game-worn Jordan jersey sold was just two weeks ago, when his game three jersey from the 1998 Finals auctioned for $12.3 million. The latest buyer is Miami real estate investor Ron Firman, who made the purchase in a private sale through Hunt Auctions. David Hunt, president of Hunt Auctions, noted that while Jordan's significance in the sports memorabilia market was already well-established, this sale has elevated it to an elite asset class comparable to iconic works of art.",
