During her visit, Pillay commended the dedication of court officials and staff, praising their work amid challenging times. The Nobel laureate met with ICC officials and staff to acknowledge their vital role in advancing international justice.\n\nThe ICC President, Tomoko Akane, congratulated Pillay on her 2026 Nobel Peace Prize award. She described the recognition as a testament to the importance of international justice as a cornerstone of lasting peace. The Norwegian Nobel Committee recognized Pillay's career, which included serving as a judge, president of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014.
