"summary": "The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) is set to consult its members on the outcome of talks with the Education Ministry regarding the suspension of its strike. The strike, which began on August 10, 2026, and has been reactivated since September 15, centers on disparities in the Interim Market Premium (IMP) paid to teaching and non-teaching senior members. The Ministry of Education held a meeting on Monday with GAUA leadership, the Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG), the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and the Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, to discuss the situation. Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu expressed optimism that the strike would be called off soon, urging GTEC to encourage public universities to announce their reopening dates by the weekend to avoid further disruption to the academic calendar. GAUA's strike has disrupted administrative operations at public universities, including admissions, registration, and accommodation allocation. The Ministry emphasized the importance of normal academic activities resuming to avoid losing the academic calendar to the strike's impact.",
