"account": "British track sprinter Matthew Richardson has been removed from the Great Britain team ahead of the upcoming UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai, China, due to a potential misconduct investigation. British Cycling announced Richardson's withdrawal in a statement without specifying the reason. The 27-year-old, who was previously part of the 20-rider squad for the championships, is expected to return to racing after a serious crash in Japan in July. He was set to compete in the team sprint, sprint, and keirin events. Richardson, the European champion in sprint and keirin, was born in Maidstone, UK, and represented Australia before switching his nationality to British in 2024 after winning medals for his new country at the Paris Olympics. In 2025, he set a world record for the 200m flying lap. He had expressed confidence in his ability to win world titles and was optimistic about his form despite not racing since the crash.",
