"account": "US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar faced a pre-dawn raid on her Washington, DC home on Monday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, in connection with a criminal fraud investigation involving her late father's immigration paperwork. The raid, which also involved the US Department of Justice, came less than a month before the midterm elections. Omar, the first hijab-wearing Muslim to serve in the federal legislative branch, has been a frequent target of former President Donald Trump since her election in 2018. Trump frequently called for an investigation into her citizenship status and claimed she married her brother for immigration purposes, allegations she has consistently denied. During the raid, Omar expressed her feelings on X, stating that the action was an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. Democrats condemned the raid, with progressive Congressman Ro Khanna calling it \"chilling\" and \"disgusting.\"",
