"account": "Federal agents raided the home of U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar in Washington, D.C., on October 12, 2026, in what she called an \"attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.\" The Somali-born congresswoman, who has faced insults from President Donald Trump in the past, stated on social media that she \"will not be silenced.\" The DOJ spokesperson confirmed the search was executed under a judicially authorized warrant as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation. The investigation, allegedly related to alleged immigration fraud, concerns Omar's immigration paperwork filled out by her late father when she was a child. This is not the first time Omar's immigration records have been targeted; last year, a subpoena of her records was unsuccessfully filed by Republican Rep. Nancy Mace. Democrats have condemned the raid, accusing President Trump of using it to intimidate political opponents leading up to the midterm elections.",
