"account": "President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized to the newly confirmed Deputy Chairpersons of the Electoral Commission, Emelia Afi Agbenyo and Dr Joseph Kwaku Asamoah, the crucial role they play in maintaining electoral integrity and public trust in Ghana's democratic processes. In his remarks at their swearing-in ceremony on October 12, Mahama stressed that their appointments carry a significant responsibility to safeguard the foundations of Ghana's democracy. He stressed that the credibility of elections hinges on the integrity, competence, and fairness of the Electoral Commission, and urged both officials to ensure that the people's will is accurately reflected in electoral outcomes.\n\nMahama highlighted Dr Asamoah's diverse educational background, which includes law, accountancy, economics, and election administration. He pointed out that his experience within the Commission's audit, finance, and training departments has equipped him with practical knowledge of the Commission's operations. The President encouraged Dr Asamoah to utilize his expertise in election administration, results management, and training for electoral officers to bolster institutional systems, enhance staff preparation, and ensure the responsible handling of public resources.\n\nSimilarly, Mahama praised Ms Agbenyo's extensive experience in public administration, leadership, development cooperation, and stakeholder engagement. He noted that her leadership at the Ghana TVET Service, where she coordinated nationwide operations and supported policy implementation, has prepared her for the challenges of leading an institution that requires meticulous planning and coordination across the country. The President urged both officials to apply their respective expertise to the work of the Electoral Commission, emphasizing the importance of competence, accountability, and fairness in administering elections.",
