"account": "The Folio Society has announced a new hardcover edition of Lafcadio Hearn's short story collection, Japanese Ghost Stories, perfect for Halloween enthusiasts. Featuring illustrations by The Unwritten's Yuko Shimizu, the edition is set to go on preorder soon. The book includes twenty tales, such as \"The Story of Aoyagi,\" \"Oshidori,\" and \"The Dream of Akinosuké,\" which depict ghosts wreaking revenge, paintings coming to life, and spectral brides possessing mortal men. Japanese Ghost Stories is popular in Japan and highly regarded by horror enthusiasts worldwide. Japanese novelist Yoko Ogawa has provided a modern introduction, discussing the country's obsession with ghosts and demons. The Folio Society editor, Mandy Kirby, believes the modern twist on the traditional stories and Shimizu's illustrations give the book a unique 21st-century appeal. Preorder for the hardcover edition will open on October 13 on the Folio Society website.",
