"summary": "The U.S. Army has received its first mobile howitzer system manufactured by South Korean company Hanwha Defense USA, according to a report from The Korea Times and corroborated by Defense News. The Mobile Tactical Cannon (MTC), part of a broader effort to replace aging artillery systems, was showcased at a recent U.S. Army event in Washington. Brig. Gen. Robert Mikesh Jr., the Army's portfolio management executive for offensive fires, expressed enthusiasm about the new system, emphasizing the importance of soldier feedback in its development. The Hanwha Defense USA was chosen to provide prototypes of the wheeled variant of the K9 Thunder self-propelled artillery, with a contract value of up to $262.9 million for six prototypes and an option for 12 more.",
