"account": "A Chicago Bulls jersey worn by Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals was sold for a record-breaking $14 million, according to Hunt Auctions. The jersey was auctioned off through a private treaty sale, with the price determined directly between the seller and buyer. Jordan donned the red, black, and white road jersey in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series against the Utah Jazz on June 5, 1998, scoring a game-high 37 points in a 93-88 victory. The Bulls, who lost Game 1, ultimately won the series in six games. Jordan, who claimed his sixth and final NBA title that year, averaged 32.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game throughout the Finals. The autographed jersey set a new record for the highest price ever paid for a piece of basketball memorabilia, surpassing the previous record of $24.12 million set by a New York Yankees jersey belonging to Babe Ruth in 2024. The sale price also made it the second-highest paid price for a sports jersey ever.",
