"account": "U.S. authorities have deported Russian detainee Idris Makhmudov, who had been held for 27 months at a Georgia ICE facility, following a mass hunger strike by inmates. According to a report by Agentstvo, Makhmudov and at least 73 other detainees protested poor conditions and prolonged detention at the Folkston facility. Makhmudov, a Russian citizen born in Kazakhstan but originally from Chechnya, had sought asylum in the United States and was initially detained in July 2024 at the Arizona border crossing. Despite a federal court denying his petition to challenge his detention, Makhmudov was deported on a commercial flight via Morocco. During the journey, he reportedly lost consciousness after refusing food and water for four days. Makhmudov's representative claimed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement informed him his appeal would continue and he would be returned if it succeeded, claims that have not been independently verified.",
