"account": "A game-worn, autographed Michael Jordan road jersey from the 1998 NBA Finals has reportedly been sold for $14 million, an auction house has announced. This is believed to be the highest price ever paid for a piece of basketball memorabilia, said Hunt Auctions, which facilitated the sale. The red jersey, worn by Jordan in Game 2 of that series on June 5, 1998, was the one that helped the Chicago Bulls secure an even series score against the Utah Jazz. Jordan and the Bulls went onto win the series in six games, marking the sixth and final title of his Hall of Fame career. The $14 million price underscores the escalating value of Michael Jordan's memorabilia, a trend that has seen game-worn jerseys fetch up to $24.12 million in 2024. This sale marks at least the third time a Jordan jersey from the 1998 finals has fetched at least $10 million. The jersey was originally purchased from the Bulls by a private collector in 2003 and has remained within a concise chain of custody, having changed hands only once.",
