"summary": "The Ghana Police Service has made eight arrests in connection with an alleged internet fraud initiation assault in the Bono Region, specifically in Kotokrom, Sunyani West Municipality. The incident, which occurred on October 4, involved the assault of a 21-year-old man, Godstime Umukoro, by a group of suspects who claimed it was part of their initiation into an internet fraud operation. The suspects, identified as Peter Mbam, Godwin Moses, Humble Oweifah, Osas Ogbemudia, Samuel Aisosa, Ashile Godbess, Alexander Uyuo, and Patrick Romans, have all been apprehended at the scene. They admitted to their involvement in the assault, stating that they had undergone a similar process themselves. The suspects allegedly used images of foreign military personnel to deceive people online, posing as military personnel serving in Yemen and soliciting money from their targets. The police commend the public for their intervention and reaffirm their commitment to combating crime in the region.",
