"account": "E-hailing drivers in Lagos State have initiated an indefinite strike to protest grievances related to fare structures, commissions, deductions, and welfare. This decision was announced by the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transporters of Nigeria (AUATON), an affiliate of the Nigeria Labour Congress. The union cited persistent concerns over operational policies, drivers' welfare, safety, security, and the sustainability of their operations. Despite previous attempts to address these issues, many remain unresolved, leading to the strike. The union appealed to fleet owners and managers to temporarily suspend daily remittance obligations and operational targets during the strike. AUATON stated that drivers would be monitored to ensure compliance with the strike, with sanctions possible for those continuing to operate. The union urged for open communication and constructive engagement among all parties involved to find a lasting solution to the problems affecting the drivers.",
