"summary": "The 18th Lumière Festival opened in Lyon this past Saturday evening, with nearly 450 screenings set to take place across fifty venues over nine days. Among the highlights of this year's festival are the brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, whose work will be celebrated with the Lumière Award on October 16. Guests at the red carpet event were asked to share their earliest cinema memories, with German director Fatih Akin recalling his six-year-old self watching Bruce Lee's The Chinese Connection, and American filmmaker Todd Haynes remembering the lasting impact of Mary Poppins on his creative brain. Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, who is presenting Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon at the festival, also fell in love with Lyon during her visit. The festival features restored classics, retrospectives, and special screenings, alongside events centered on Hong Kong director Tsui Hark and Todd Haynes.",
