"account": "Renowned Puerto Rican boxer Wilfredo \"Bazooka\" Gomez, a three-weight world champion celebrated for his powerful punches, has passed away at the age of 69. His professional record stood at an impressive 44 wins in 48 fights, with 42 victories coming by knockout. Former WBO president Paco Valcarcel confirmed his death, paying tribute to Gomez as his countryman who \"entered the great family of international boxing.\" The World Boxing Council (WBC) and the International Boxing Hall of Fame honored Gomez, acknowledging his dominance across three weight divisions and his record-breaking 17 consecutive title defenses at super-bantamweight, where each defence was secured by knockout. Despite facing defeats against notable fighters such as Salvador Sanchez and Azumah Nelson during his bids for the featherweight title, Gomez's legacy as one of the sport's most feared punchers remains unmatched.",
