"summary": "The Wisconsin Badgers have announced that two of their three freshmen will miss the upcoming season due to injury. Guard Josh Manchester, who averaged 30.1 points per game in high school, will sit out the season after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery. Additionally, three-star wing LaTrevion Fenderson will also miss the 2026-27 season to focus on academics. With the 5-for-5 rule in effect, there will be no more redshirting in college athletics, but Fenderson's decision to take a year off essentially functions as a redshirt year. The Badgers currently have a strong depth chart, with 11 players rotating in the recent exhibition game, and are likely to further condense their rotation as the season progresses.",
