"summary": "The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has dismissed claims that he has stepped down for Governor Francis Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 election. According to Daily Post Nigeria, Odii stated during an interview in his Isu hometown that he has not backed out of the contest and intends to win the election to address hunger and poverty in the state.\n\nOdii described statements made by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, regarding an approach for him to step down for Governor Nwifuru as political manoeuvring. Daily Post Nigeria reports that Odii maintains he is contesting because the PDP gave him a mandate through consensus and he has much to offer the people of Ebonyi State. He noted that while he respects the Minister, he has not been asked to step down.",
