"summary": "A Central District Court judge has sentenced Ruan Abd al-Hai to 10 years in prison for repeatedly abusing and assaulting eight toddlers at a daycare in Hod Hasharon between May and July 2023. The offenses included nine counts of abusing a helpless minor, 146 counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, and 122 counts of aggravated assault. The court found that Abd al-Hai hit, shook, pinched, and threw the children, sometimes while they were crying, and even fed them food that had fallen on the floor. The judge cited the need to deter abuse that can be difficult to uncover, given the victims' inability to describe what happened. She also acknowledged the lasting effects of the abuse on the children and their families, including sleep and eating difficulties, anxiety, and fear.",
