"summary": "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the 2027 presidential election, featuring 18 candidates and their running mates. According to Daily Post Nigeria, the list was signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony and includes Bola Tinubu of the APC, Atiku Abubakar of the ADC, and Peter Obi of the NDC, among others.\n\nIn response to the publication of the governorship candidates list, the African Democratic Congress in Jigawa State has protested the omission of its deputy governorship candidate and seven others, Punch reports. Separately, Punch Nigeria reports that Ogun PDP governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu has urged supporters to remain calm following the omission of his name from the list.\n\nRegarding the Enugu State governorship election, Daily Trust reports that INEC has cleared former Minister Geoffrey Nnaji to contest. Nnaji, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, appears as number 13 on the list. The report notes that Nnaji tendered his WAEC results rather than a degree certificate, following allegations regarding the authenticity of academic documents submitted during his 2023 ministerial nomination.",
