"account": "A worker tragically lost their life after a canopy fell at the construction site of the Fairmont Winnipeg hotel in Winnipeg on Thursday. The deceased individual was employed by Kepsco Construction and was present on the site for asbestos abatement work. Barb Perreaux, director of communications for James Richardson & Sons Ltd, the owners of the Fairmont Winnipeg building, expressed deep sympathy for the deceased's family, friends, and colleagues. Kevin Rebeck, president of the Manitoba Federation of Labour, emphasized the increased risk of workplace injuries for workers in Manitoba compared to other regions in Canada, calling for a comprehensive external review to address the issue. In response, the hotel's flags are flying at half-mast as a show of respect for the fallen worker. Global News has contacted Kepsco Construction for further details.",
