"summary": "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published a list of 15 governorship candidates and their running mates for the upcoming 2027 Bauchi State governorship election, but four parties are notably absent from the roster. These parties—Social Democratic Party (SDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Alliance (AA), and Accord Party—have yet to be included in the commission's announcement, leaving their candidates' participation in the race uncertain. The parties whose candidates have been listed include the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), African Action Congress (AAC), Labour Party (LP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Peoples Party (APP), New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), National Democratic Party (NDP), and National Rescue Movement (NRM). As political parties gear up for the 2027 contest, which will see Governor Bala Mohammed stepping down at the end of his term, the omission of these four parties has raised questions about their status in the electoral process. INEC and the affected parties have not yet provided an explanation for the exclusion.",
