"account": "The family of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a governorship aspirant in Lagos State, has defended his Yoruba and Lagos heritage through the release of historical documents and photographs. The Rhodes-Vivour family, with roots in Saro (Africans who returned from Sierra Leone to West Africa), claims to have a long-standing presence in Lagos across multiple generations. The family's digital collection, hosted on their website, rhodesvivour.com, contains various materials that trace their involvement in commerce, law, public service, and military service. Prominent figures in the archive include William Vivour, a leading planter and trader in 19th-century Africa, and Justice Stephen Bankole Rhodes II, an early indigenous Nigerian jurist. The archive aims to counter the attempts to distort their history and pedigree in Lagos by providing evidence of their ancestry and contributions over several generations.",
