"summary": "Former Butere Girls High School principal Hellen Naututu Omoka has passed away, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the education sector. Serving as headmistress from 1975 to 1979, Omoka oversaw significant growth and expansion at the institution, increasing the number of 'O' Level streams from two to four and constructing additional dormitories to accommodate the growing student population of approximately 650 girls. Her tenure at the school also saw the introduction of a first science class at A-Level and the offering of subjects such as home science, business education, fine art, and physical education, alongside a range of extracurricular activities. Omoka's contributions to education, including her leadership in infrastructure development and curriculum diversification, have left an indelible mark on the country. Her death was mourned by the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), with leader Eugene Wamalwa describing her as a trailblazer and educationist par excellence, extending condolences to her family.",
