"account": "Terra-Gotchi is a groundbreaking open-source, fully offline AI digital pet designed to encourage users to engage with the physical world. Created for the Hacktoberfest 2026 Touch Grass challenge, Terra-Gotchi is an innovative solution that offers a break from screen time and promotes outdoor exploration. Rather than relying on screen-based interactions, users feed Terra-Gotchi real-world natural textures by taking pictures of objects like tree bark or green leaves. A local multimodal AI, powered by Google's lightweight gemma:2b open-weight LLM and llava open-source vision model, judges the photo's authenticity and approves the \"meal\". This project emphasizes the importance of open innovation, as it runs completely offline using local hardware, without any cloud infrastructure. The result is a 100% offline, multimodal AI companion that not only provides a unique user experience but also ensures user privacy and security.",
