"summary": "The Nigeria Basketball Federation Electoral Committee has finalized the screening process for candidates in the upcoming October 15 elective congress in Abuja. Four presidential aspirants—Olumide Oyedeji, Igoche Mark, Mustapha Abdullahi, and Ejike Ugboaja—have cleared the screening, while one candidate was disqualified for submitting their nomination forms late. Ayo Bakare was disqualified as his nomination forms arrived 12 minutes after the 2pm deadline. The committee expects the federation to decide on its affiliate members by October 14 and requires the international representative to present a letter from FIBA confirming their position. The presidential contest includes well-known figures such as Oyedeji, a former NBA player, and Mark, the initiator of the Mark D Ball Basketball Championship. The congress will commence at 9am on October 15 in Abuja after the committee publishes the final list of qualified candidates.",
