"account": "South Melbourne have achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first non-League team to win the Australia Cup, defeating Melbourne Victory in the final. The match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes and 1-1 after extra time, before Victory failed to convert two penalties in the shootout, allowing South Melbourne to secure the Cup 4-3. This victory marks a significant moment in Australian domestic soccer history, with South Melbourne's former NSL powerhouses overcoming Melbourne Victory in an emotionally charged match. The game saw Denis Genreau score an impressive half-volley in the 95th minute, giving Victory an early lead, and Max Mikkola equalizing in the 117th minute, leading to a penalty shootout. South Melbourne's goalkeeper Javier Lopez was instrumental in the win, winning the Mark Viduka Medal as the man of the match. This victory caps off an extraordinary evening for South Melbourne, who have long desired an A-League licence, and strengthens their bid for that prestigious position in Australian soccer.",
