"summary": "The Independent National Electoral Commission has published a final list of 16 candidates for the February 6, 2027 governorship election in Gombe State. According to Punch Nigeria, the list does not include the Peoples Democratic Party, which means Isa Ali Pantami, the PDP's governorship candidate, is not on the list.\n\nPantami's absence from the list follows a court dispute over the process that produced him as the PDP's governorship candidate, as reported by Punch Nigeria. The Federal High Court in Gombe had, on September 24, nullified his initial emergence and ordered the party to conduct a fresh primary within 30 days.\n\nDaily Post Nigeria reports that Pantami's name appeared on the provisional list released on August 29 but is absent from the updated list. The final list features candidates from various parties, including Bala Bello Tinka of the African Democratic Congress, Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna of the All Progressives Congress, and Zubairu Mu’azu Halilu of the Labour Party, among others.",
