"account": "The New York Knicks, fresh off their NBA championship win, initially seemed poised to focus on defending their title. However, contract extension talks with Karl-Anthony Towns have stalled. Towns expressed his dissatisfaction with the offered deal, stating that he desires to keep the team together and values himself. Despite his willingness to consider a reduced offer, the Knicks have decided to prioritize the regular season. A spokesperson for the Knicks confirmed that they will not be negotiating contract extensions until later in the season, with their main focus on preparing for the upcoming campaign. The two sides have been at odds, as New York is unwilling to overextend itself financially, while Towns remains steadfast in his belief that the initial offer is too extreme. With the NBA season set to start in just 11 days, the gap between the two parties appears insurmountable.",
