"summary": "President Trump has announced that Russia has agreed to release millions of tons of diesel fuel to combat high prices. This move comes ahead of the US midterm elections. According to CBS News, Trump says Russia will release the diesel fuel over the next several months.\n\nThe deal for US to buy Russian diesel was made amid a surge in fuel prices and reportedly discussed in a call between Trump and Russian President Putin regarding the Iran war, as reported by CNBC World and CNBC.\n\nGermany has taken note of the US decision to temporarily lift sanctions on Russian diesel deliveries. However, the German government remains committed to pursuing sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine, according to a statement by government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius, as reported by DW News and DW English. Germany has not imported any oil or oil products from Russia since EU sanctions were imposed in 2023.",
