"account": "President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the Poultry and Meat Processing Factory at Bechem in Ghana's Ahafo Region will transform the town into the country's chicken capital once operational. Currently 50 percent complete, the President planned to inspect the ongoing construction during the first day of his two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the Ahafo Region. The factory, officially commissioned on November 27, 2025, is set for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2027.\n\nMahama encouraged the youth of Bechem to capitalize on the factory by venturing into poultry farming, noting that a ready market exists for them. He explained that the project began with the Nkoko Nketenkete initiative, which aimed to ensure a steady supply of poultry for processing. The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, reported that Ghana's domestic poultry production has surged from 4.6 percent to 22 percent as of May 2026, following the introduction of the Nkoko Nketenkete initiative under the Feed Ghana Programme.",
