The victims, driver Nur Fauziah Ismail, 38 from Kampung Apek, and front-seat passenger Zawiah Halias, 41 from Kampung Hulu Kekabu, were identified by police. Superintendent Zahril Asri Mohd Zain reported that the incident, believed to have occurred around 3:45pm, was initially reported at approximately 4pm. Police stated the Proton Waja, traveling from Kota Baru towards Kuala Terengganu, skidded into the opposite lane and collided with a trailer lorry. Following the crash, the trailer also skidded, striking a Perodua Aruz multi-purpose vehicle, a Perodua Myvi, and a UDT lorry, all en route from Kota Baru to Kuala Terengganu. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene and were subsequently sent to the Setiu Hospital forensics unit. The case is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Zahir urged witnesses to come forward to the district police headquarters Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department to help with the ongoing investigation.",
