"summary": "Russian President Vladimir Putin relayed Iran's stance on a possible Middle East peace deal to US President Donald Trump in a phone call. The Kremlin reported this, but did not provide details on Trump's response or Iran's position.\n\nThe phone call occurred as the US was set to buy Russian diesel, amid a surge in fuel prices. This deal was seen as a significant development, given years of US pressure on Russia over its war with Ukraine. Ukrainian officials expressed concerns that the deal would help bankroll Moscow's war efforts.\n\nThe deal was announced after Ukraine refused to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries, according to a report by Axios. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that easing pressure on Russia would allow it to continue fighting, and Ukrainian officials reported that Russian strikes had killed at least 15 people in the Zaporizhzhia region.",
