"account": "Singapore's Marina Bay Street Circuit witnessed a rain-delayed F1 sprint race on Saturday, with the start pushed back by half an hour. The delay occurred after heavy rain minutes before the 5 pm (0900 GMT) scheduled start time. Standing water around turns 2 and 3 prompted the FIA to put the start back following a medical car's assessment of the track conditions. Teams quickly switched from slick to intermediated tyres once the standing water was cleared. Drivers completed two formation laps behind the safety car before a standing start for the final sprint race of the season. Max Verstappen, driving for Red Bull, led the pole position ahead of George Russell from Mercedes and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari. The Bahrain Grand Prix earlier this week experienced heavy rain-induced chaos, with multiple delays and a suspended start procedure that left drivers navigating treacherous conditions.",
"summary": "A downpour shortly before the scheduled 5pm start sent fans and officials scrambling for cover, while pooled water at turns 2 and 3 forced the FIA to delay the race.",
