"account": "The United States Disciplinary Barracks in Fort Leavenworth holds Nidal Malik Hasan, the U.S. Army Major convicted of killing 13 people in a mass shooting at Fort Hood in 2009. President Donald Trump has approved Hasan's execution by military firing squad, marking the first such execution of a soldier by the U.S. Army since World War II. The firing squad method is being revived in the U.S. due to supply-chain issues and failed executions by lethal injection. Tennessee lawmakers have called for a shift from lethal injection to firing squad following the botched execution of Christa Pike last week, the second in Tennessee this year. Republican Rep. Tim Burchett has also suggested lethal injection be abandoned in favor of alternative methods. Several states, including South Carolina, Idaho, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Utah, currently allow execution by firing squad. Idaho is the only state that uses it as its default method, while others use it as a fallback if lethal injection is not possible or as one of several execution methods.",
