"account": "The African Union (AU) has praised South African lawyer Navi Pillay for being awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The honor acknowledges her work towards international justice, human rights, and peace via international law. Pillay headed a United Nations report which found that Israel has carried out genocide in Gaza. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission, notes that Pillay's career is a lasting example for Africa and the world. Pillay was a staunch advocate against apartheid and later worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, the International Criminal Court, and the United Nations. This achievement is a point of pride for African women and girls, inspiring future generations. The De Bruyn Foundation also congratulated Pillay on her Nobel Peace Prize win, joining those celebrating her accomplishments and her dedication to justice and equality.",
