"account": "Lecturers at Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) are set to resume their academic duties following the suspension of a strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The decision comes after successful negotiations between the union and the Lagos State Government over staff welfare and pending agreements, as reported by TVC News.\n\nOlusegun Babalola, Coordinator of the Steering Committee for ASUU-LASU, Grace Abimbola, Acting Chairman for ASUU-LASUED, and Murisiku Onigemo, Chairman for ASUU-LASUSTECH, announced the suspension of the strike on Friday in a joint statement. The collective efforts of individuals and organizations supporting the union's cause played a crucial role in reaching this milestone, as highlighted in the statement.\n\nASUU expressed gratitude to various stakeholders, including the media, civil society organizations, traditional rulers, students, parents, and other supporters, for their contributions during the negotiations. The union also acknowledged the support provided by the Joint Action Front, Education Rights Concern, and Campaign for Democratic Workers Rights. Traditional rulers, parents, and students were commended for their patience and understanding throughout the industrial action.\n\nASUU members are directed to return to classrooms immediately, reaffirming their commitment to academic excellence and quality university education. The union emphasized that they would continue to engage with the Lagos State Government to resolve outstanding issues related to their members' welfare packages.",
