"account": "Wizards of the Coast has officially unveiled the next crossover set for Magic: The Gathering, titled Marvel: Darkhold Destiny. Scheduled for release on April 9, 2027, the set will be available for pre-order through local game stores, TCGplayer, Amazon, and other retailers. Wizards of the Coast announced the news at New York Comic Con, coinciding with the event's Marvel-themed festivities.\n\nThe announcement teased the arrival of supernatural beings such as devils, sorcerers, and vampire-hunting vampires in the upcoming set. This crossover will delve into the supernatural aspects of the Marvel Universe, featuring a brand-new original character developed in collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Marvel. Additionally, a special Marvel Comics release, penned by award-winning writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, will adapt the story.\n\nPlayers will embark on a dimension-hopping journey across the set, uncovering the secrets of the Dark Dimension and teaming up with the pantheon of Marvel gods. Magik, a mutant sorceress popular among fans, is the only hero confirmed for the set thus far. However, Wizards of the Coast has revealed that the expansion will introduce numerous other anticipated Marvel heroes and villains making their Magic debut.\n\nMarvel: Darkhold Destiny will encompass the main card set, Commander decks, Scene Boxes, and exclusive collector-focused card designs. The Commander precon options include Lords of Hel (red-black), Gods of Asgard (red-green-white), Strange Academy (white-blue-black), and Midnight Sons (white-black). Wizards of the Coast has also devised new \"Booster Fun treatments\" for the expansion, alongside updated versions of designs from previous releases, ensuring ample excitement for collectors of Marvel-themed collectibles.\n\nThis collaboration between Marvel and Magic: The Gathering is part of the ongoing Universes Beyond range, which has been increasingly integrating established entertainment franchises into the TCG. Previous collaborations include the Marvel Spider-Man set in 2025 and the Marvel Super Heroes expansion in 2026. Marvel: Darkhold Destiny marks another exciting chapter in this successful partnership between the two entertainment powerhouses.",
