"account": "Singapore's Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) will bolster religious guidance, spiritual care and community support at mosques. Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Zaqy Mohamad emphasized the significance of preserving trust families and young people place in mosques and religious teachers. MUIS unveiled new initiatives at the One Mosque Sector Townhall, including Mufti Associates in four mosque districts, an Islamic Spiritual Care and Guidance framework, and Qaryah networks for local Muslim community groups. The initiatives aim to better address the evolving needs of the Muslim community while maintaining an open and welcoming atmosphere in mosques. Recent events, such as a case of sexual abuse involving a self-styled religious mentor, have highlighted the need for stronger safeguards in mosques. MUIS will also deploy Family Development Officers to four mosques to strengthen the ARIF programme, which supports families in areas like parenting, fathering and marriage. A committee to strengthen safeguards in religious settings will engage stakeholders to assess existing safeguards, identify gaps and provide practical recommendations.",
