"account": "Dr. Yahya Saidu, the Executive Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area in Adamawa State, has passed away. Saidu took office as council chairman on July 15, 2026, and died early Friday morning, October 9. This marks the second Fufore council chairman to die in office within a two-year period, following Alhaji Shuaibu Babas' demise on April 23, 2025. The local community expressed shock and grief over Saidu's sudden death, as he was known for his philanthropic efforts and grassroots development initiatives, which he had only three months to implement. Aliyu Boya Wakili, a member of the National Assembly representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency, praised Saidu as a committed public servant, lamenting the loss of his contributions. The family has yet to announce burial arrangements. The Daily Post notes that the death of Alhaji Babas in April 2025 sparked controversy surrounding the succession process in Fufore Local Government Area, as Esther Audu, his deputy, was not immediately sworn in as his successor due to protests questioning potential gender or religious bias. After two weeks of public outcry, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri eventually appointed Audu as the council's permanent chairman.",
