"account": "PETALING JAYA, Oct 10 — Police shot and injured a man in his 30s after a dangerous chase and crash in Petaling Jaya yesterday, according to Sinar Harian. The incident unfolded around 6.42pm on Persiaran Mahogani heading towards Sungai Buloh. A police patrol car had been pursuing the suspect's Proton Wira when the chase ended in violence. Shamsudin Mamat, Petaling Jaya police chief, confirmed the suspect suffered gunshot injuries and was arrested. Another police officer was also hurt and received medical attention. Footage online depicted the high-speed pursuit, subsequent collision with other vehicles, and the fleeing suspect on foot while being chased by officers. Shamsudin revealed the suspect was in possession of drugs and an imitation pistol, though a urine test is pending as the man is currently under medical care. The suspect had a history of 10 previous arrests, including six for drug offenses and four for other crimes. Police are investigating under various Penal Code, Arms Act, and Dangerous Drugs Act sections. An application for the suspect's remand is set for today at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. Shamsudin cautioned against spreading false information and urged the public to contact the Petaling Jaya district police operations room for any relevant information.",
