"summary": "The Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will hold its final sitting from October 12 to 21, 2026, with four Bills set to be tabled, including the 2026 Supply Bill that will present the Sarawak 2027 Budget for approval. Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar emphasized the importance of this final sitting before the current term ends. The Bills include the 2026 Supply Bill and Supplementary Supply Bill, tabled by the Sarawak Premier and Deputy Premier respectively, as well as the Sarawak State Library (Amendment) Bill and Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill. The amendments to the Sarawak State Library Ordinance aim to streamline governance and establish a memorial archive, while the Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill seeks to clarify the mechanism for replacement holidays when two public holidays fall on the same day. The DUN will also elect a new senator following the end of Senator Michael Mujah Lihan’s term on December 10, 2026.",
