Trump endorsed the choice in a post on Truth Social, highlighting Zacharia's allegiance and political communications expertise. Born in California, Zacharia has previously worked as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security and actively contributed to Trump's campaigns, focusing on the pivotal battleground states. She currently holds the position of senior communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group, the entity overseeing Truth Social, where Trump routinely publishes significant government announcements. Trump emphasized Zacharia's pivotal role in securing his victories in the seven swing states during the 2024 presidential election, describing her as a steadfast supporter since the beginning. He further assured that she would establish effective rapport with the media, the public, and his administration. Zacharia, an attorney and outspoken conservative commentator, has made appearances on Fox News and Newsmax, and has held communications roles in past Republican political endeavors. Her political journey began as an intern for the Republican National Committee during President George W. Bush's tenure. She earned undergraduate and law degrees from Pepperdine University and previously served as general counsel for the conservative organization Fix California. Zacharia will assume the role vacated by Karoline Leavitt, who stepped down from the position in late August.", "summary": "President Donald Trump has selected Katie Zacharia, a senior communications adviser at Truth Social, as the new White House press secretary.
