The speech, intended to rally other Republican candidates, saw Trump complain about the decision, stating that the United States should have been awarded the prize instead. He accused the Nobel committee of \"discrediting\" the prestigious award by allegedly giving it to a \"liberal person who works at the United Nations, who nobody has ever heard of.\"\n\nTrump further derided Norway and the decision-makers, declaring that they would \"not forget\" their refusal to recognize his achievements. He claimed that the US had successfully ended multiple wars, including the ongoing conflicts in Iran and Russia-Ukraine, which he confidently predicted would be resolved \"quickly.\" Trump further stated that Iran had been prevented from obtaining a nuclear weapon, potentially averting a Middle Eastern catastrophe.\n\nDespite these claims, Trump's assertions were met with skepticism. Intelligence agencies reported that Iran had ceased its nuclear weapons pursuit in 2003. Moreover, the UN commission that investigated Israel's actions in Gaza had concluded that Israel was not guilty of genocide. Trump's accusations against the Nobel committee and Norway, as well as his inflated claims of military accomplishments, were met with widespread criticism.", "summary": "US President Donald Trump expressed discontent about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026, a year he started a war with Iran, according to The Guardian US.
