"account": "US President Donald Trump expressed on Friday his belief that the Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Malik Hasan, should receive the death penalty via firing squad, though he has yet to decide if the execution will be broadcast live. The Pentagon has decided to livestream the execution of 56-year-old Hasan, a former US Army psychiatrist who killed 13 people and injured 32 others in Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. Pentagon officials say they want to stream the event to highlight the consequences of such actions. Hasan is currently on death row in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and is paralyzed from the waist down due to injuries sustained during the shooting. He is scheduled for execution on December 3. US Vice President Kamala Harris stated she is uncertain whether the execution will be live broadcast, adding that she wouldn't watch it if it is. The Vice President, a devout Catholic, emphasized the importance of remembering Hasan's brutal murder of innocent people. The plan to stream Hasan's execution has faced strong opposition from both within Trump's Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Republicans argue that livestreaming executions is a tactic used by terrorists, while Democrats call it an \"inhumane spectacle\" and \"barbaric promotion of a culture of death.\"",
