"account": "The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has chosen Dr Ifeanyi Okoye, CEO of Juhel Nigeria Limited, as its new president, UN reports. Okoye replaces Francis Meshioye, who completed his four-year term, following a vote at MAN’s 54th Annual General Meeting. MAN’s Director-General, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, confirmed Okoye’s election in a statement. Okoye, who founded Juhel in 1987, operates a wholly indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Enugu State. The company’s facilities have expanded over the years, with its permanent site in Emene, Enugu, and additional production lines for syrup and capsules in 2001, as well as a major parenteral manufacturing plant in Awka, Anambra State, in 2010. Okoye earned degrees in pharmacy and pharmaceutical technology from the University of Ife and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, respectively. He is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and a Harvard Business School graduate. Okoye has also held various positions in public-sector committees and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria. Nigerian manufacturers face challenges such as high costs, infrastructure issues, and foreign exchange pressures, as Okoye takes the helm as MAN’s 12th president.",
