"account": "Mitchell Christian School seniors Silas Holdeman and Luke Mentele have forged a strong bond over the course of their six years together on the cross country team. Since seventh grade, the two have shared classrooms, practices, meets, church activities and countless miles running side by side. Their friendship has only grown stronger through their competitive running careers, pushing each other to become some of the best in Class B. With just two meets remaining, the 10th graders are preparing to make their final runs together. Holdeman and Mentele will compete in the Region 3B cross country meet on Oct. 14 in Freeman, followed by the Class B state meet on Oct. 24 in Rapid City. Mentele praised Holdeman's role in helping him achieve his full potential, saying, \"He really brings out the best in me.\" In turn, Holdeman has been a quiet leader for Mentele, encouraging the vocal competitor to have fun and enjoy the sport they both love. Their friendship and mutual support have been instrumental in the Golden Eagles' consistent performances, as they have been second at the state meet for the past three seasons. As their high school careers near their end, Holdeman and Mentele are focused on having fun and finishing strong as a team.",
