"account": "US Vice President Mike Pence expressed doubt on Friday about whether Nidal Hasan's execution by military firing squad, scheduled for December 3 at Fort Hood, Texas, would be livestreamed as initially planned. If livestreamed, Pence stated he would not watch the event. Hasan, convicted of murdering 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009, is set to become the first individual executed by a military firing squad in the United States since 1945. The Pentagon has confirmed live streaming of the execution, while President Donald Trump contradicted that statement, saying no decision has yet been made on whether to broadcast the event publicly. Tech companies, including YouTube, Meta, and X, have not yet confirmed whether they will allow the execution to be streamed on their platforms. International condemnation has been swift, with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops condemning the planned livestream, labeling it as a public execution that would breach prohibitions against torture.",
