"summary": "US President Donald Trump has announced that he has struck a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to obtain diesel fuel from Russia. According to Trump, Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel, with volumes set to rise to 500,000 tons in November, followed by an additional one million tons, and a further three million tons in a short period.\n\nThe deal is seen as an attempt to address high fuel prices ahead of the US midterm elections. Trump's announcement comes after he signed a sweeping Russia sanctions law last month that aimed at clamping down on Russia's energy economy.\n\nUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted sharply to the announcement, saying that the Russian leader was trying to strike \"backroom deals\" to buy time in the war. According to PBS NewsHour, Trump also made other announcements, including that Katie Zacharia will replace Karoline Leavitt as White House press secretary, and that the Pentagon plans to livestream an execution. Additionally, NFL legend Mike Ditka died at age 86.",
