"account": "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State has declared its readiness and preparedness to conduct the 2027 general elections in a hitch-free, fair, and credible manner. On Friday, REC Dr Elizabeth Agwu made this statement during a stakeholders engagement meeting at the INEC headquarters in Awka. Agwu assured that INEC had deployed 5,720 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines to cover the state's 5,720 polling units. About 22,280 ad hoc staff are also set to be deployed for the elections. The commission is also urging citizens to pick up their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and distribute them. The REC emphasized the importance of candidates conducting themselves with decorum and focusing on realistic campaign promises. The commission is set to commence the distribution of PVCs from October 9 to 15. Agwu warned against electoral malpractices and urged political parties to be civil to ensure a credible and transparent electoral process. The REC also highlighted the importance of staff reshuffling as a measure to strengthen the Commission's capacity to deliver a credible electoral process.",
